Obtaining a Copy Will...

The Process

When you write a Will, it is obviously a private and confidential document and that remains so after death UNLESS an application for a Grant of Probate is made (most estates over £5,000 need a Grant) and afterwards we can obtain a copy from the Probate Register.

If a search is successful then we can also tell you the total value of the deceased's estate and the names and addresses of the person(s) that dealt with the estate.

Simply CONTACT US to order a copy Will. The cost depends on the date of death and how many copies you need but is normally £45 plus VAT.

What if the person only died very recently?

We can still search for the Will. If the Will has not yet been processed through the Court then we will notify you if the Will has been processed up to 6 months after the search has started. After 6 months you may start a new 6 month search for an additional £25.00 plus VAT.
